The Faculty of Polish Studies at Warsaw University is one of the biggest research centres in Poland offering courses in literature, linguistics and cultural studies in the following fields: Polish philology, Slavic philology, Hellenistic and Latin studies, Baltic studies. The faculty is entitled to confer the doctoral degree and the post-doctoral (doktor habilitowany) degree in the humanities within the fields of linguistic and literary studies.

There are three major degree tracks at the Faculty of Polish Studies, which are in turn divided into six specialities: Polish philology (specialities: literature and linguistics or "Polish literature and the Polish language in European civilisation"), cultural studies - knowledge of culture and philology (specialities: Slavic philology, Baltic philology and Classical philology).
